What would you do if you were King of the World?

This question changed my life. I was sitting in a small yellow plane, flying slowly above a wood on a sunny day in summer 2010. I was meant to be learning how to fly. What I ended up learning was how to think about which direction I wanted my life to take. The window of the plane was open, we were free to take our time, to fly anywhere, north, south, up, down, talk about anything.

My instructor asked me, 'If you were King of the World, if money, rules, obligations were no object for you, if you could go anywhere, do anything at all every single day of your life, what would you do? How would you spend your life?' I struggled to answer the question. It was too much to imagine, but it stuck with me and it led me to think, to choose, to act, again and again.

I learned to fly a plane, but my instructor knew he was teaching me more than how to explore the skies. He inspired me to think about what I really wanted to spend my life doing and how to do it

What I decided to do was to help others do the same and that has changed everything. Your answer to this question will be different, chances are my answer will change, but without asking it, we won't even leave the ground, let alone know where to fly.
